The Nigerian Navy has arrested a suspect present in possession of an array of weapons, together with an AK-47 rifle, in Eleme-Ifoko Group, Degema Native Authorities Space of Rivers State.
The arrest, which happened on Wednesday, led to the restoration of 1 AK-47 rifle, three magazines, thirty-six rounds of seven.62mm x 39mm ammunition, three smoke grenade launchers, and a domestically made rifle.
In a press release launched on their official Fb web page, the Navy confirmed that the suspect is presently in custody and present process investigation.
The operation varieties a part of the army’s ongoing efforts to curb unlawful arms possession and strengthen safety within the state.
The assertion reads, “On Wednesday 23 October 2024, Ahead Working Base BONNY performing on credible Intelligence found and apprehended a suspect in possession of 1 AK-47 rifle, three AK-47 magazines, thirty-six rounds of seven.62mm X 39mm ammunition, three smoke grenade launchers and one domestically made rifle in Eleme-Ifoko Group, Degema LGA, Rivers State. The suspect is presently in custody present process investigation.”
