A former Minister of Sports activities, Bolaji Abdullahi, has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Get together (PDP).
Bolaji, a robust loyalist of the previous Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, additionally served as Commissioner for Training below Bukola’s administration as governor of Kwara State.
He had earlier served as Senior Particular Assistant on Technique to Bukola throughout the early a part of his administration within the state.
The previous sports activities minister, in his resignation letter dated December 16, 2024, addressed to the Ubandawaki Ward chairman of the get together in Ilorin, said: “I’ve had ample time to replicate, and I’ve come to the tough conclusion that that is the one tenable choice for me at the moment.
“Mr Chairman, please allow me to precise by means of you my gratitude to the management of the get together for the alternatives that I’ve needed to serve the state and the nation on its platform and for the nice moments we now have shared,” the letter added.
The letter was copied to the state chairman of the get together and the chairman of the Ilorin West Native Authorities Space chapter of the get together.
DAILY POST recollects that Bolaji, because the sports activities minister, resigned his appointment below former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan throughout the get together’s nationwide disaster, which led to the creation of the New PDP and the eventual defection of about 5 governors and different bigwigs of the get together to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The defection, led by Bukola Saraki, Rotimi Amaechi, and others, contributed to the victory of former President Muhammadu Buhari in his first tenure.
