French teenager Mathis Amougou on Tuesday signed for Chelsea from Saint-Etienne in a deal reported to be price 15 million euros ($15.5m).
The Premier League membership confirmed the 19-year-old midfielder has penned an eight-year contract and can start coaching within the coming days.
“I’m very pleased. It’s an honour for me to signal for such an enormous membership like Chelsea,” Amougou stated.
“They consider in younger gamers and the method they’ve in place to develop us is improbable.”
Amougou made his debut for Saint-Etienne at the beginning of final season and featured in Ligue 2 because the membership secured promotion to the French high flight.
