Kano Anti-Corruption Fee Arrests Native Authorities Officers and Governor’s Aide Over Alleged N105m Fraud
The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Fee (PCACC) has arrested three officers from the Nassarawa Native Authorities Space and Mustapha Maifada, Senior Particular Assistant to Governor Abba Yusuf, over allegations of diverting N105 million.
The arrested officers embody the council’s Director of Personnel Administration, Treasurer, and Cashier. PCACC Chairman Muhuyi Rimin-Gado confirmed the arrests in a WhatsApp message on Tuesday, stating, “Sure, the officers have been arrested, and they’re with us.”
In line with sources, the three native authorities officers have been initially instructed to difficulty a cost of N105,000 for a program. Nevertheless, they allegedly issued a cheque of N105 million to the governor’s aide in November 2024 as a substitute.
The anti-graft company launched an investigation after receiving intelligence from a monetary monitoring system. Throughout interrogation, the detained officers claimed the cost was a mistake.
