Calabar, Nigeria – Cross River State Governor Bassey Otu has accredited the appointment of a 13-member committee to offer a postmortem on Carnival Calabar and the Annual Competition Idea after 20 years of internet hosting.
The approval which was given on Friday is in furtherance to the Governor’s dedication to enhance ideas and insurance policies of presidency.
In keeping with a public service announcement signed by Mr Nsa Gill, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, “The overview is geared toward bettering and refreshing the product in keeping with world traits in tourism product improvement and repackaging.”
The Committee consists as follows:

TERMS OF REFERENCE
• Evaluate the previous 20 years to determine the excessive factors and the low factors.
• Establish the success elements of the final 20 years.
• Restructure the bands as a inventive entity.
• Discover natural methods of bettering the carnival by making it our cultural expression.
• Provoke the institution of a carnival museum for the preservation of carnival tradition.
• Advise on the advance of laws and organisation to align with world finest practices.
• Harness all advertising alternatives to enhance carnival funding.
• Devise technique of putting Carnival Calabar’s presence on the worldwide roadmap.
• Recommend a roadmap for the following 20 years to information the operators.
• Interact related stakeholders in arriving at its suggestions.
“The committee has two weeks to submit its report back to His Excellency the Governor of Cross River State,” the assertion added.
