The African Motion Congress (AAC) has referred to as for the rapid withdrawal of what it described as arbitrary expenses imposed on candidates collaborating within the upcoming Native Authorities Space (LGA) elections in Benue State, scheduled for October 5, 2024.
In response to the AAC, the Benue State Unbiased Electoral Fee (BSIEC) has demanded that chairmanship candidates pay N500,000 and councillorship candidates pay N250,000.
Along with these charges, BSIEC can be reportedly requiring dealing with expenses of N115,000 and N90,000 for chairmanship and councillorship candidates, respectively.
In an announcement issued by the AAC Chairman, Rex I. Elanu, the social gathering urged Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia to intervene and make sure the rapid revocation of those expenses.
