Abia State governor, Alex Otti, yesterday formally activated a brand new state training programme named “Abia Fostering Innovation and Reform for Faculty Transformation” (AbiaFIRST).
The programme, based on the State Commissioner for Primary and Secondary Training, Elder Goodluck Ubochi, represents a holistic strategy to training transformation encompassing Early Childhood Growth, Primary Training Enhancement, Secondary Faculty Reform, Technical and Vocational Coaching, Digital Studying Integration, Profession Training, and Neighborhood Engagement.
He stated, “It encompasses state-of-the-art infrastructural growth within the training sector, superior digital studying processes, complete lecturers’ growth programmes, revolutionary curriculum design, and fashionable vocational coaching facilities, amongst others.”
He stated that the imaginative and prescient is to organize Abia college students in primary and secondary colleges to be expert contributors within the world village, whereas its focus is on institutional reform and college transformation, introducing revolutionary options akin to Digital Studying Platforms, a Complete Curriculum Framework, Trainer Skilled Growth, Enhanced TVET Programmes, and Sturdy Monitoring and Analysis Programs.
He stated,”AbiaFIRST is being applied by a strategic partnership between the Abia State Authorities and the Training Reform and Innovation Group (ERIT)—a consortium of completed training specialists, innovators, and transformation brokers.”
Whereas unveiling the AbiaFIRST brand on the Worldwide Convention Centre, Umuahia, the state governor stated that it’s a central plan for a transformational governance initiative for the fast socio-economic growth of the state.
He stated, “AbiaFIRST is concentrated on strategic initiatives aimed toward reworking the state training sector by sustained investments within the growth of faculty infrastructure, coaching and retraining of lecturers on new tendencies, and recruitment of high quality lecturers to cater for the rise in enrollment figures.”
He vowed to guide in qualitative training supply, saying,”Abia State Authorities has re-taken the initiative to guide the cost within the qualitative training of our younger individuals by our multi-level studying establishments.
