Rwanda’s minister of defence, Juvenal Marizamunda, has urged Japanese Africa Standby Power (EASF) chiefs of defence employees to scale up regional response mechanisms, adapt them to the challenges at hand, and “use all means at our disposal as a way to realise peace and safety in our area and the continent.”

He was talking on Thursday, December 19, as regional chiefs of defence employees joined an specialists’ working group on the thirty third coverage organs assembly underway in Kigali. The six-day assembly began on December 16.
Presiding over the opening session, the minister praised the robust partnerships amongst member states of their ongoing efforts to advertise peace and stability.
