Cross Riverians have reacted to the press launch issued by the Head of Service, Dr Harmless Eteng, banning the operation of the utilization of WhatsApp (teams) by Civil and Public Servants within the state.
The assertion, which was made out there to CONVERSEER on Monday, mentioned staff shall not function or use any WhatsApp platform(s) not accepted by the Head of Service.
Eteng, who was reacting to a purported group known as Cross River State Civil Service Discussion board, mentioned any union or group not recognised by the regulation is disbanded, including that erring workers shall take disciplinary motion.
“The eye of the Authorities of Cross River State has been drawn to the unlawful creation of an obnoxious platform christened “Cross River State Civil Service Discussion board” by some aggrieved Civil Servants.
“Towards this backdrop, all Civil/Public Servants in Cross River State and the Normal Public are by this discover reminded that any Affiliation Union or Group of individuals not recognised by regulation is prohibited and hereby disbanded with rapid impact.
“Whereas the Authorities respects the residents’ proper to freedom of affiliation and meeting, it shall, nonetheless, not tolerate the operation of teams inside the Civil/Public Service that are inclined to represent a nuisance to the current administration by no matter guise.
“Accordingly, Civil/Public Servants are enjoined to establish with accepted recognised Labour Unions/Associations within the service to channel their grievances (if any), as a substitute of making new splinter teams. For the avoidance of doubt, the mentioned platform as aforesaid or some other will not be accepted or authorised by the Head of Service.
“Please be warned because the Workplace of the Head of Service shall not hesitate to institute acceptable disciplinary motion in opposition to any erring workers,” the assertion learn.

Reacting, Cross Riverians requested if the state is ruled by the army.
