The Governing Council of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa College (ATBU), Bauchi, has dismissed Dr. Usman Aliyu from the establishment’s service following his involvement in a case of sexual harassment.
This was disclosed by the college’s Director of Info and Public Relations, Zailani Bappa, throughout an interview with the Information Company of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday.
Bappa acknowledged that the choice was taken on the college’s 96th common council assembly held on April 11, 2025.
Dr. Aliyu was discovered responsible of sexually harassing a married feminine postgraduate scholar from the Division of Chemical Engineering, beneath the School of Engineering and Engineering Expertise.
“The dismissal adopted the findings of the Senior Employees Disciplinary Committee, which confirmed the lecturer’s misconduct,” Bappa stated.
He defined that the motion was taken consistent with Chapter 3, Merchandise F, I, (o) of the college’s Senior Employees Situations of Service.
As a part of the directive, Dr. Aliyu has been ordered to return all college property in his possession to his Head of Division and give up his identification card to the college’s Chief Safety Officer.
