A Federal Excessive Court docket in Abuja has ordered the arraignment of singer, Darlington Okoye, popularly often called Pace Darlington, who has been in police detention in Abuja since November.
Darlington was arrested in Owerri, Imo State for alleged cyberbullying towards his colleague and Grammy Award profitable singer, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, popularly often called Burna Boy.
The detained singer’s lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, who made this identified on his social media account on Monday, stated the court docket ordered Darlington’s arraignment inside 48 hours after granting their elementary rights, FREP utility.
Adeyanju stated, “Our FREP utility for Pace Darlington aka has been granted by the court docket. He’s to be arraigned inside 48 hrs or launched. Points round injustice might take time however justice will at all times prevail.”
SaharaReporters in November reported that the Nigeria Police Drive had moved Darlington, also referred to as “Akpi” from Owerri, Imo State, to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Prime sources revealed to SaharaReporters that Dasuki Galadanchi, the Deputy Inspector-Common (DIG) accountable for the Drive Intelligence Division had personally taken over Darlington’s case information from the police unit that arrested him.
Adeyanju on November 27 confirmed that Burna Boy was behind Darlington’s harassment and arrest by the police in Owerri on November 26.
Adeyanju had berated Burna Boy for oppressing Darlington regardless of producing songs towards oppression.
