Nollywood actress Chioma Chukwuka-Akpotha has revealed how she ready for her position within the lately launched Netflix sequence, Seven Doorways.
In Seven Doorways, Akpotha portrays the position of an Igbo queen married to a Yoruba king (performed by Femi Adebayo), bringing to life a story of kingship, kinship, household, love, betrayal, and restitution. The position required her to talk fluent Yoruba.
Showing in a TVC interview alongside her co-star, Femi Adebayo, the actress disclosed that she discovered Yoruba particularly for her position within the sequence. She stated:
“I needed to study Yoruba for my position in Seven Doorways. The Yoruba within the film was not the common one spoken in Lagos State, so I needed to be very specific in regards to the tone.”
The sequence, which debuted on Netflix on December 13, has garnered reward from viewers for its compelling storyline, characters and performances.
