The Nigeria Union of Journalists Ogun State Council, has awarded DAILY POST’S Reward Oba with the State’s Print/On-line Journalist of The Yr Award.
She was awarded for her reviews on: How Stiff Abortion Pointers Gasoline Unsafe Abortion In Ogun State, The Motive for the rising instances of Suicide in Nigeria amongst others.
Talking on the award and dinner night time ceremony, which was a part of the Ogun NUJ 2024 Press Week in Abeokuta, the Judges’ Board Chairman, Dele Akinsola, stated the winners have been chosen from amongst over 100 submissions from reporters who had produced excellent protection of the state.
Akinsola acknowledged that the awards got to acknowledge the excellent contributions journalists have made to influencing public opinion, encouraging accountability, and advancing nationwide growth.
She stated, “The standard of entries we acquired was spectacular. It was a difficult job for the judges to pick out the winners, however in the long run, we have been in a position to establish one of the best of one of the best.

Different reporters awarded on the occasion included Ogun NUJ Grassroots Reporter of the Yr:Print & On-line- Sodiq Ojurongbe, Broadcast- Lekan Agbonde; Ogun NUJ Broadcast Journalist of the Yr: Yemi Dalemo, Investigative Reporter of the Yr: Broadcast- Kazeem Olowe, Judicial Reporter of the Yr- Adeyemi Aderonke, amongst others.
