The Delta State authorities on Sunday postponed the resumption date for some private and non-private main and secondary colleges within the capital, Asaba.
Based on a press release from the Everlasting Secretary of the Ministry of Fundamental and Secondary Schooling, Augustine Oghoro, on behalf of the State Commissioner for Major Schooling, Kingsley Ashibogwu, and his counterpart in control of Secondary Schooling, Rose Ezewu, the federal government has directed all private and non-private main and secondary colleges in Delta State to renew on Monday, September 9, 2024, for the graduation of the 2024/2025 first-term tutorial actions.
Nonetheless, the resumption date for colleges in Oshimili South Native Authorities Space has been shifted to Monday, September 23, 2024.
“The extension of the resumption date for all personal and public main and secondary colleges in Asaba and its environs is because of the eighth version of the Nationwide Youth Video games scheduled to be held in Asaba from Monday, September 9 to Thursday, September 19, 2024,” the assertion learn.
“Some colleges in Asaba, together with West Finish Combined Secondary College, Authorities Mannequin Secondary College, Junior Employees Major College, Unity Secondary College within the Capital Territory, and Osadenis Secondary College, have been designated to be used as hostels and venues for the video games.
“Lessons will start on Monday, September 9, 2024, after the cleansing of the school rooms and faculty premises by the learners below the supervision of their academics for colleges in different elements of the state, excluding colleges in Asaba that can resume on Monday, September 23.”
