The Evangelical Church of West Africa (ECWA), Bishara Hausa Part, Kano, has secured the discharge of two inmates, Musa Aminu and Isah Umar, who had been convicted for stealing pepper and suya beans.
The inmates, who hail from Ladin Makole and Mariri, had been free of the Wudil Correctional Service after the church paid their fines, on Friday .
Chatting with the newsmen, the Secretary of the ECWA Bishara Hausa Part, Elder Apagu Wabba, defined that the initiative is a part of the church’s annual efforts to decongest prisons.
Elder Wabba acknowledged that the church often visits correctional facilities to pay fines for inmates, no matter their faith or tribe, as a part of its mission to assist the federal government’s efforts in jail reform.
He famous that the 2 inmates, overwhelmed with gratitude, expressed their heartfelt because of the church for its kindness.
In accordance with Elder Wabba, this initiative underscores the transformative energy of compassion and second possibilities.
The ECWA chief urged philanthropists and NGOs to hitch in making a extra compassionate society by supporting related rehabilitation efforts.
