A 34-year-old father of seven, Monday Elela, has been arrested by operatives of the Ondo State Police Command for allegedly killing and burying his son in a shallow grave over ‘recurring’ theft.
Elela, a bricklayer and farmer, in connivance along with his spouse, who’s on the run, purportedly dedicated the crime at their residence within the Ajowa Akoko axis of the state.
Whereas being paraded together with some suspected criminals on the state headquarters of the Nigerian Police in Akure, the state capital, the suspect, who admitted to beating his deceased son, denied killing him.
In keeping with him, his deceased 14-year-old son, Tope Elela, had been a daily customer to police stations and Amotekun Corps cells as a consequence of fixed theft that had been embarrassing the household.
He stated: “Out of my seven kids, he has been the one giving us issues. All he did was break into individuals’s homes. He’s identified round the place we stay, and he has been arrested many instances by the police, however he gained’t change.
