ABUJA – Senator Abubakar Kyari, Minister of Agriculture and Meals Safety, has expressed the Ministry’s readiness to accomplice the Worldwide Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) and different stakeholders to revive the nation’s cotton sub-sector in a bid to spice up cotton manufacturing, create jobs and improve export alternatives.

Abubakar Kyari revealed that the cotton ecosystem would create over 1.4 million jobs yearly, which is according to the industrialisation coverage of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

In his remarks, Minister of State for Agriculture and Meals Safety, Senate Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, said that the agricultural Sector is the largest employer of labour within the nation and expressed the dedication of the Federal Authorities to revive the cotton and textile sub-sector.
In his tackle, the Govt Director, ICAC, Eric Trachtenberg, said that the organisation would assist Nigeria’s cotton worth chain, revamp it by providing professional recommendation geared toward enhancing productiveness, enhance the worth chain and funding facilitation.
He outlined the potential areas of collaboration to incorporate coaching of farmers and extension service staff, deployment of applied sciences, and progressive options, amongst others.
