The Jigawa State Home of Meeting says it has declared a state of emergency on schooling to handle out-of-school youngsters syndrome.
The Speaker, Mr. Haruna Dangyatum, said this on Saturday in Kaduna at a one-day assembly with the legislators, organized by the Jigawa State Primary Training Board (SUBEB).
The event got here in opposition to the backdrop of report by the Jigawa State Bureau of Statistics, which indicated that 38.5 per cent of youngsters aged 5 – 14 are out-of-school, whereas 32.3 per cent of the youths between 15 – 17 years didn’t attended faculty.
Dangyatum described as “alarming”, the spate of the out-of-school youngsters within the state, including that the legislators would provoke viable intervention to handle the issue of their respective constituencies.
