In conformity with the current Supreme Courtroom determination, the Kano state Impartial Electoral Fee (KANSIEC) has rescheduled the native authorities election to October 26, 2024.
Addressing a press convention yesterday night in Kano, the chairman, Professor Sani Malumfashi, stated KANSEIC had no different choice than to alter the date for the election.
“There was a mutual settlement between states and the federal governments over the expiration of October deadline on native authorities monetary autonomy.
“The fee is justifiably impelled to reschedule the already scheduled native authorities election to twenty sixth October, 2024 as in opposition to thirtieth November 2024,” he acknowledged.
The chairman stated the fee issued schedule of actions pursuant to the Electoral Act, 2022 and the Kano State Electoral Legislation 2024 as amended.
