Abductors of the previous Director-Basic of the Nationwide Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Retired Basic Maharazu Tsiga, have demanded a ransom of ₦250 million for his launch.
Basic Tsiga was kidnapped on Wednesday night time when over 100 armed males stormed his residence in Katsina State. The assailants reportedly surrounded the home and commenced breaking down doorways, prompting the retired army officer to confront them and inquire about their calls for.
Safety Companies Launch Manhunt
Safety operatives have since launched a manhunt to rescue the previous NYSC DG from captivity.
Confirming the ransom demand, a supply near the household, who spoke on situation of anonymity, revealed that the abductors contacted the household and insisted on the ₦250 million fee as a situation for his launch.
In the meantime, Abdullahi Balarabe Dabai, the lawmaker representing Bakori/Danja Federal Constituency in Katsina State, described the kidnapping as worrisome, calling for intensified efforts to curb rising insecurity within the area.
Authorities are but to launch an official assertion on the ransom demand, however efforts are ongoing to safe the secure return of the retired common.
