Makinde advocates single term of six years for president, governors

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has advocated a constitutional modification to introduce a single time period of 5 – 6 years for elected political officeholders in any respect ranges in Nigeria, as in opposition to the present two-term restrict of 4 years every.

Hazeem Gbolarumi and Engr. Hamid Gbadamosi; member representing Ibadan North-East/South-East Federal Constituency, Hon. Abass Adigun (Agboworin); and the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo, and Delta States, Alhaji Dawodu Makanjuola.

In his deal with, Governor Makinde congratulated Muslims on the celebration of Eid-el-Kabir and expressed appreciation for his or her continued prayers and help over the previous six years of his administration. He urged them to stay steadfast in praying for the success of his authorities.

Reflecting on his time in workplace, Makinde famous that the COVID-19 pandemic and election-related actions had considerably diminished the time obtainable for efficient governance, including {that a} single time period would remove such distractions.

Delivering the message of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, the Otun Olubadan, Oba Ladoja, urged residents to proceed supporting the Makinde-led administration, whereas praying for larger achievements.

Talking to journalists after the Eid prayer, Deputy Governor Lawal inspired Muslims to uphold the values of obedience, belief, and sacrifice as taught within the Holy Qur’an.

He recommended the governor’s dedication to immediate wage funds and urged residents to help the administration in delivering extra democratic dividends.

Professor Kamil Oloso, who provided particular prayers for the governor, expressed the Muslim neighborhood’s appreciation for Governor Makinde’s continued help and goodwill.

Different dignitaries within the delegation included the Deputy Speaker of the Oyo State Home of Meeting, Rt. Hon. Mohammed Fadeyi, PDP State Secretary, Wasiu Adeleke, Oloye Nureni Akanbi, commissioners, native authorities chairpersons, and different prime authorities officers.
