A 22-year-old man named Tasiu Danlami sustained extreme burn accidents whereas trying to vandalize transformer cables belonging to the Abuja Electrical energy Distribution Firm (AEDC) within the Tafa Native Authorities Space of Niger State.
The incident, which occurred on October 14, 2024, was confirmed by the spokesperson of the Niger State Police Command, SP Wasiu Abiodun.
In keeping with the assertion, Tasiu and one other suspect, Abba Salisu, had been trying to steal cables from the transformer within the space when the harmful act led to Tasiu being severely electrocuted.
The police have taken swift motion, launching an investigation into the case whereas Tasiu receives medical remedy for his accidents.
“On 10/10/2024 at about 0545hrs, Police operatives of Tafa Div with vigilante members, whereas on routine patrol inside Hayin-Nasarawa space alongside Abuja-Kaduna Expressway through Tafa, arrested two suspects recognized as; Tasiu Danlami 22yrs and Abba Salisu 18yrs of the identical space,” the assertion learn.
“The 2 suspects tried to vandalize AEDC transformer cables inside the neighborhood, which led to extreme burn damage of Tasiu.
“He was taken to Musa Yar’Adua Hospital Sabon-Wuse for remedy, whereas Abba was taken into custody with an industrial slicing plier.
“Suspects are underneath additional investigation in Tafa Division.”
