The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) introduced on Tuesday that it has commenced enforcement actions in opposition to 5 airways for violations of varied client safety laws.p
The event was disclosed by the NCAA Director of Public Affairs and Shopper Safety, Michael Achimugu, in an announcement posted on his official X web page on Tuesday.
“Earlier right this moment, I notified 5 airways that the NCAA has initiated enforcement actions in opposition to the operators for violation of varied client safety laws (Half 19 of the NCAA Rules 2023),” the assertion stated.
The official acknowledged that the airways have been sanctioned for a number of violations, together with short-landed baggage, delayed refunds, flight delays and cancellations, an absence of responsiveness to official communications from the authority, and mishandled baggage.
In the meantime, Mr Achimugu didn’t disclose the names of the sanctioned airways.
Nevertheless, the Management newspaper reported that the affected airways are Ethiopian Airways, Royal Maroc Airways, Arik Air, Aero Contractors, and Air Peace.
The transfer to sanction the airways occurred three weeks after the NCAA warned that it will sanction airways following a surge in passenger complaints.

On Tuesday, Mr Achimugu stated the motion in opposition to the airways had been escalated to the NCAA Authorized Division for additional motion.
