The Speaker of Council within the CoE, Clr Nthabiseng Tshivhenga, officiated the swearing-in of an ActionSA councillor final Friday.
Clr Tumelo Brian Tshabalala took his oath of workplace earlier than the speaker as per Rule 11 (1), (2) and (3) of the CoE Standing Orders By-Regulation.
These guidelines make provision for councillors to swear or affirm their faithfulness and obedience to the republic, the structure and council earlier than a Justice of the Peace in a council assembly or at any time by association earlier than the speaker within the speaker’s workplace.
Tshivhenga welcomed the brand new councillor, who can now take part within the official enterprise of council, and wished him effectively in serving the individuals of Ekurhuleni with integrity and upholding his sworn oath.
