Abuja, Nigeria – April 28, 2025 – The Federal Authorities of Nigeria has strongly condemned the brutal terrorist assault that occurred on April 22, 2025, in Pahalgam, situated in southern Indian-administered Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 26 people—principally vacationers—and left a number of others critically injured.
In an announcement issued by Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Overseas Affairs, Nigeria described the assault as a “deeply tragic incident” and reiterated its dedication to standing with India throughout this attempting time.
“The Federal Authorities of Nigeria strongly condemns the latest terrorist assault in South Kashmir’s Pahalgam. We’re deeply saddened by the tragic lack of 26 harmless lives and the accidents sustained by many others,” the assertion learn.
Ebienfa emphasised that Nigeria, having endured its personal share of terrorism and insurgency, understands the ache and destruction such assaults trigger. He underscored the necessity for intensified international efforts within the combat in opposition to terrorism.
“Terrorism stays a grave worldwide risk that calls for a coordinated and unwavering international response. Our ideas and prayers are with the victims, their households, and your complete individuals of India,” he mentioned.
The assertion reaffirmed Nigeria’s solidarity with India within the collective pursuit of peace, stability, and justice internationally.
In the meantime, authorities in India have launched a number of counter-terrorism operations within the Kashmir area, notably round Pahalgam, following the lethal ambush. Safety has since been heightened as investigations proceed into the perpetrators behind the coordinated assault.
