Nigerian rapper and actor, Folarin Falana, often known as Falz, has mentioned that no legislation in Nigeria permits a president to droop a governor.
The 34-year-old lawyer made this recognized on Tuesday after President Bola Tinubu introduced the six-month suspension of Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, his deputy Ngozi Odu, and all elected members of the state Home of Meeting.
“Rivers State, there’s ABSOLUTELY NO LAW that enables a president to SUSPEND a governor. A governor is elected into workplace and should solely be eliminated by impeachment,” Falz wrote on X (previously Twitter), attaching screenshots of Part 305 of the 1999 Structure, which outlines the circumstances underneath which a president can declare a state of emergency.
