Members of the Governing Council of Obafemi Awolowo College (OAU), Ile-Ife, lately paid a courtesy go to to Ekiti State Governor, Abiodun Oyebanji, on the Governor’s Workplace in Ado-Ekiti. The delegation was led by the Professional-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Prof. Siyan Oyeweso.
Oyeweso described the governor ‘’as a visionary and staunch advocate of high quality schooling.” He lauded his exemplary management type and highlighted the state’s historic ties to the college. He recalled the contributions of Ekiti State indigenes to the college’s educational basis.
The governor thanked the members of Council and the college administration for retaining the glory of the college alive and enjoined them to not decrease the usual.
Oyeweso famous the historic connection between Ekiti State and the Obafemi Awolowo College, Ile-Ife, to the impact that lots of its founding fathers have been from Ekiti State, together with Akin Omoboriowo.
In recognition of those enduring ties, Oyeweso requested the help of the Ekiti State Authorities in direction of the development of a 1500-seater lecture theatre at OAU, to be named the ‘Ekiti-Kete Lecture Theatre.’
