The Oyo State authorities has commenced a capacity-building programme for 1,950 farmers throughout the 33 native councils within the state, as a part of its continued efforts in making certain meals safety.
Whereas declaring the coaching opened in Ibadan, the Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Growth, Olasunkanmi Olaleye, mentioned the occasion will create a sustainable agricultural ecosystem that enhances meals manufacturing in Nigeria.
Talking via the Ministry’s Everlasting Secretary, Mrs. Abosede Owoeye, the Commissioner disclosed that authorities is investing within the state’s future via its varied trainings for farmers, including that Governor SeyiMakinde-led administration recognises the essential position farmers play in making certain meals safety and financial prosperity.
In response to Olaleye: “The coaching programme encompasses varied areas, 660 farmers will obtain coaching on pasture institution, administration, conservation, and synthetic insemination methods, 300 farmers will study climate-smart agriculture, specializing in high-value crop manufacturing and efficient weed administration methods, 140 younger farmers will obtain coaching on beekeeping practices,100 members will study shea butter manufacturing methods, 90 members will obtain coaching on locust bean processing strategies, 660 youths, ladies, and retirees will obtain specialised coaching on mushroom cultivation throughout all zones within the state.”
He subsequently, urged the members to take full benefit of the coaching, emphasising that the federal government has engaged useful resource individuals to make sure a complete studying expertise.
