The Platform Faculties, Lagos, has emerged winner of the NNPC-SNEPCo and Chess in Slums Africa, Lagos State Faculties Chess Championship.
Titled: ‘Powering progress by way of chess,’ the occasion was attended by college students and founder, Chess in Slums Africa, Tunde Onakoya, in addition to a former college students’ union chief, Adewole Adeyinka, amongst others.
The college, represented by Nyuma Ferdinand, Adekanye Adejuwon, Obe Amir, Taiwo Olamide, and Taiwo Ibrahim, was rewarded with a money prize of N500,000, whereas Sasa Neighborhood Junior and Secondary College, as first runner up received N300,000, whereas Abiolu College, Igando and Impetus Dominion Academy,as second runners-up, every acquired N100,000.
