The police on Wednesday arraigned a 32-year outdated man, Emmanuel Fasuyi, in a Magistrates’ Courtroom in Akure for allegedly ok!lling his 65-year neighbour, Grace Ogunsulire after stealing from her home.
The police charged Fasuyi with one depend of homicide.
The Prosecution Counsel, Owolabi Edu instructed the court docket that the offence was dedicated on September 16, 2024 at about 12pm at No1 Oke-Itura Avenue ,Yaba Ondo city.
The prosecutor alleged that Fasuyi gruesomely ok!lled Ogunsulire by hitting her head with an object.
In line with Edu, the defendant broke into the home of the deceased with the intent to steal with out realizing that she was indoors.
He mentioned after the defendant sighted the deceased popping out of her lavatory and recognized him, the defendant instantly approached her and hit her with an object on the top which finally led to her d3ath.
The offence, he mentioned, contravened the provisions of Part 319 of the Felony Code Legislation of Ondo State 2006.
The prosecutor urged the court docket to remand the defendant on the correctional centre pending recommendation from the Director of Public Prosecution, DPP.
The Justice of the Peace, Mrs. R.I Adelakin adjourned the case until February 25, 2025, for the listening to of the appliance and ruling.
He consequently ordered the remand of the defendant on the SCID, Akure.
