A former Speaker of the Oyo State Home of Meeting, Dr Akin Onigbinde (SAN), has tasked the nation’s tertiary establishments to proffer options to the myriads of issues confronting them, noting that ivory towers are full of individuals with extraordinary abilities and mind, therefore, ought to be capable of chart the best way ahead for the faculties.
Onigbinde, who acknowledged this on the seventieth birthday and retirement lecture of a former Vice-Chancellor of Ladoke Akintola College of Expertise (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Prof. Adeniyi Gbadegesin, urged universities to determine options to the challenges plaguing the system.
Gbadegesin, who’s a former Head of the Division of Geography and Dean of Social Sciences of the College of Ibadan (UI), is retiring from the premier establishment.
Onigbinde, who chaired the occasion, lauded Gbadegesin for his contributions to educational growth. He mentioned: “The college system attracts the perfect women and men of extraordinary abilities to steer the cost in each sphere. It’s time for these establishments to step again and proffer options to their challenges.
