Nigerian music stars Rema, Mercy Chinwo, and D’banj made the nation proud as they dominated the winners’ listing on the prestigious 2025 Hint Awards.
The award ceremony, which passed off on the gorgeous Mora Resort in Zanzibar, Tanzania, on Wednesday, February 26, celebrated African and international music excellence.

Rema, the ‘Calm Down’ crooner, bagged two main awards—‘Album of the 12 months’ for Heis and ‘Greatest Male Artiste’. Ayra Starr, who has been making waves internationally, was honoured as ‘Greatest West African Artiste’.
Gospel artiste Mercy Chinwo clinched the ‘Greatest Gospel Artiste’ award for her highly effective and inspirational music that has touched tens of millions, whereas veteran singer D’banj obtained the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ in recognition of his contributions to the music business through the years.
Behind the scenes, P.Priime was celebrated because the ‘Greatest Producer’ for his work on MMS, and Meji Alabi received ‘Greatest Music Video’ for steering Rema’s DND.
With Nigeria securing a number of wins, the evening additional proved the nation’s stronghold within the international music business.
