A crowd of girls on Friday flooded the Aba street space of Port Harcourt, demanding the reinstatement of the suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, and his deputy, Ngozi Odu.
The protest, which started alongside the most important street, and superior to the Rivers State Authorities Home, featured placards with daring inscriptions corresponding to “Carry again Fubara”, “Save our democracy”, “Is the regulation totally different for Rivers State?”, and “God of justice, come up for Rivers State.”
Chanting songs of solidarity, the ladies, who described themselves as moms and wives, appealed on to President Bola Tinubu to raise the suspension on Governor Fubara and reinstate all democratic establishments within the state.

They decried what they known as “unconstitutional navy rule masked as a state of emergency,” insisting that Rivers folks deserve higher than what they termed an undemocratic association.
Talking to Channels Tv, a few of the protesters and leaders expressed their frustration over the continued political disaster within the state. They famous that regardless of the scenario, Governor Fubara has continued to work, delivering the dividends of democracy.
“We’re a peaceable folks and don’t deserve this sort of injustice. The governor has been doing his job regardless of the distractions. What is going on now is just not democracy,” one of many protesters stated.

The demonstration remained peaceable, with ladies of all ages becoming a member of the march. Protest leaders emphasised that their motion was not about politics however about defending the democratic values of the state.
“We’re right here to defend our votes and the sanctity of our democracy. That is past Fubara; it’s about justice and the way forward for Rivers State,” one of many leaders famous.
The ladies had earlier held prayers at Isaac Boro Park earlier than progressing with the march on Aba Street.
