ABUJA: The Senate on Wednesday held a Valedictory Session for Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo who represented Edo Central.
Senator Okpebholo was a member of the tenth Senate (2023+2024) till his election as Governor in September 2024.
He emerged because the winner of the ballot after successful 11 of the 18 native authorities areas of Edo state.
He was declared the winner with 291,667 votes to defeat Mr Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Celebration (PDP), who secured the best votes in 7 native governments, got here second within the election with 247,274 votes.
The candidate of the Labour Celebration (LP), Olumide Akpata, got here third with 22,763 votes.
