The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has introduced that the finances defence report for the N54.2 trillion 2025 finances can be introduced to the Senate in plenary.
He confirmed that members of the Committee on Appropriations will current the report both Wednesday or Thursday this week.
Mr Akpabio spoke on Tuesday throughout plenary, following a debate on a invoice to determine a Federal College of Agriculture in Abak, Akwa Ibom State.
He emphasised the urgency of concluding the talk on the 2025 finances.
“You’ll observe that a few of our colleagues will not be within the chamber due to the required closing touches on the 2025 Appropriation Invoice report, which can be laid earlier than us tomorrow, Wednesday, or Thursday this week.
“We have to shut early to permit for collective efforts in that route for closing consideration and passage of the 2025 Appropriation Invoice,” he said.
Senate passes 5 payments
Earlier within the session, the Senate handed 5 payments for first studying.

The payments included the Structure of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (1999 as amended) Alteration Invoice 2025, the Armed Forces Act Modification Invoice 2025, and the Federal Medical Centres Act Modification Invoice 2025, amongst others.
Moreover, the Senate handed for second studying a invoice to amend the Federal College of Agriculture Act, aiming to determine the Federal College of Agriculture in Abak, Akwa Ibom.
After the second studying, the invoice was referred to the Committee on Agriculture for additional legislative enter and is anticipated to be reported again inside three weeks.
