Senator representing Bauchi South senatorial district, Shehu Umar, has vowed to take appropriately lawful measures to curtail what he described as inhuman actions of safety hunters within the state.
“Such undesirable killings on harmless individuals by the so-called safety outfit in Bauchi popularly often called hunters wouldn’t be condoned beneath no matter guise”, the Senator stated.
Senator Umar was talking on Saturday whereas consoling a family in Zaranda village whose 35-year-old son, Abubakar Yahaya, was allegedly gunned down just lately by the hunters.
Late Yahaya who was in charcoal enterprise that has been banned by the Bauchi State authorities, was allegedly apprehended earlier than he was killed by members of the safety outfit.
Senator Umar stated, “They have been on their lawful enterprise of promoting charcoal, and it was in the midst of doing their reputable enterprise once they have been attacked by these hunters.”
He added, “They have been attacked by a gaggle of militia led by any person referred to as Umaru Shayi. They have been attacked and killed, and I got here to the village to commiserate with the individuals of Zaranda.”
