The Socio-Financial Rights and Accountability Mission (SERAP) has condemned the President Bola Tinubu-led Nigerian authorities following a stampede that occurred earlier in Anambra and Abuja on Saturday, which resulted in a number of casualties.
In an announcement launched on Saturday by way of its official X account, SERAP accused the Nigerian authorities and corrupt politicians of failing to meet their obligations to guard residents’ rights to life and an enough way of life.
The civic organisation decried the continued neglect of public welfare by authorities officers, claiming that their actions had entrenched poverty and subjected hundreds of thousands of Nigerians to pointless hardship.
SERAP said that the recurring disasters mirror systemic failures throughout the nation’s management.
The organisation expressed deep concern over the federal government’s lack of ability to deal with the systemic poverty that has led to conditions the place individuals are put in danger in the hunt for primary survival wants.

Earlier, a stampede in Okija neighborhood, Anambra State, left a number of residents feared useless throughout a rice-sharing occasion.
