The Shell Petroleum Growth Firm of Nigeria (SPDC) on Monday stated the reported oil leak from the Bonny Oil Export Terminal is not going to have an effect on oil exports.
SPDC famous that the incident affected solely a bit at one out of the three loading buoys, which has been remoted.
Mrs Gladys Afam-Anadu, SPDC’s Media Relations Supervisor, instructed the Information Company of Nigeria (NAN) in a phone chat that the reason for the incident, the amount of crude discharged, is being investigated.
She defined that the Joint Investigative Go to (JIV) to the incident website led by regulatory companies has been scheduled for Monday.
“On December 8, 2024, an oil sheen was detected at a loading buoy throughout export operations at Bonny Terminal.
“Loading was instantly suspended. Our Emergency Response Group has been activated and regulatory authorities and different stakeholders have been notified.
“A joint investigation go to, led by the Nationwide Oil Spill Detection and Response Company is underway.
