South African Authorities has introduced the arrest Anabela Rungo, the mom of Miss Universe Nigeria, Chidimma Adetshina, over allegations of fraudulently acquiring a South African identification doc.
The Division of Dwelling Affairs who confirmed this in a press release on Saturday stated the operation carried out by Dwelling Affairs investigators and the South African Police Service, SAPS.
It stated that Rungo, a Mozambican nationwide, was arrested at a hideout in Cape City on Saturday in a joint

Said that Rungo had been declared persona non grata in September 2024 after officers found irregularities in her residency standing.
“Investigators from the division, assisted by SAPS, detained Anabela Rungo at a property in Cape City. The Division withdrew Rungo’s South African documentation in September 2024 after discovering that it had been fraudulently obtained, rendering her ineligible to proceed residing in South Africa,” he added
Recall that Chidinma Adetshina withdrew from the Miss South Africa pageant following controversy surrounding her nationality and allegations of identification theft leveled towards her mum.
